Vartan Mailiantz

Co-founder & Artistic Director

Vartan Mailiantz is a concert violinist and performing arts educator based in New York City. A graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory, Mannes School of Music (The New School), and The Juilliard School, he has performed as a soloist in over 25 countries, appearing at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Bolshoy Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory, and Harbin Concert Hall, among others.

By the age of sixteen, Vartan had received more than ten national and international competition awards, including the Grand-Prix at the 7th International Violin Competition M.G. Erdenko (2007), the Gold Medal at the Fourth Youth Delphic Games (2005), and National and Regional Prizes for outstanding artistic achievement. He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, MusicAeterna under Teodor Currentzis, the Tashkent Symphony, and the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra, and has studied with master pedagogues including Zakhar Bron, Pierre Amoyal, Yuri Bashmet, and Viktoria Mullova. He is a recipient of the Creatives Rebuild New York award.

As Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Salon Aux Chandelles, Inc., Vartan develops and produces programming that makes classical and contemporary music accessible to broader New York audiences through intimate, community-centered concert experiences. His leadership reflects a commitment to arts education, audience development, and the creation of paid performance opportunities for professional musicians at all career stages.
